Joining the FITTS family felt like a long time coming. With my interview way back in April, and prior job obligations, I didn’t join until early July. Now it’s the end of July and at the end of the week it would have been a whole month.
The month has gone by so quick it still feels like my first week, with people who I feel like I’ve known a while. The warm welcome was really what helped me settle in so quickly. Thank god there is a sense of humour in the office! With a vibrant open-plan office and quintessentially British sarcasm – I feel right at home.
Everyone has the same attitude; FITTS and its clients are what is most important, and everyone works super hard to make this possible. Then of course a G&T is the second most important thing! No, but seriously. I have really enjoyed the ethics and modern way of working at FITTS.
Work must get done and sometimes there are tight deadlines on projects, but the flexibility that FITTS gives makes this possible from anywhere. I feel valued, having only graduated from university last year and this being my first permanent role I feel incredibly lucky to have landed on my feet in such a forward thinking, supporting company. I have already started a Microsoft course to develop my skills. Making my place in this company feel important, as they want me to continue to grow as FITTS grows. And most importantly, we work hard to enjoy the most important things in life like family and friends.
I know it’s only the start of my time here at FITTS and my life in the world of work, but I couldn’t be happier that this is my first step. My goal in life has always been to have some impact on the world or help those around me. Now I know I am no nurse, wildlife protector or even therapist but I feel like helping peoples work become far simpler and automated means there’s more time to focus on the work that really matters in their jobs. So, if you are a nurse, wildlife protector or therapist – you spend less time filing your reports, booking repeated appointments into your calendar and get out there and do that more important work with the technology to support you!
Basically, what I’m trying to say is my first month has been great and I am excited for all that I am going to embark on, I feel it just FITTS!
